Teen, minor on trial for groping beachgoer

A 19-year-old Afghan youth and a minor (who is being prosecuted by the Juvenile Court) allegedly together groped a woman visitor on a beach, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

According to the records, on May 8, MY, 19, jobless, and his younger companion sat next to MA, 29, Belgian air hostess, who was spending her time at the beach, before groping her body.

“One of the boys sat next to me while he was greeting me... the other remained standing... Immediately I got up and expressed unwillingness to talk to them... While I was getting up, the boy who sat next to me groped my leg... I moved quickly and sat next to a family so that they would not come close to me...However, this did not prevent them from coming again and sitting next to me and while I was getting up, one of them groped my breast and lower back,” the victim told prosecution.

MA informed the security who came and investigated the complaint.

“I was patrolling the beach when I received information about a woman groped by some boys.

“A woman who was crying told me that two boys came and sat next to her before groping her body,” said policeman Wael Mahmoud.

The policeman arrested the two boys who admitted to groping the woman.
