Teenager accused of dealing in ‘Tramadol’ drug

SMS, a 19-year-old Emirati, allegedly possessed 2,675 tablets of the drug ‘Tramadol’ which was kept for sale, the Dubai Criminal Court heard. He is also accused of taking Tramadol.

First Lieutenant Ali Abbas testified that police had received information that SMS possesses and takes drugs.

After investigation, police obtained permission for searching the suspect, his car and house.

At around 12.45am on March 21, police arrested him in front of his house and confiscated five tablets of Tramadol found in his car.
SMS confessed to the police that he possessed a large quantity of Tramadol tablets in his house. SMS lead the police to the roof of his house in Rashidiya where he had hid a sack containing 2,675 tablets of the drug.

He confessed to the police that he sells 10 tablets for Dh100 and that JM, a Pakistani who had earlier been deported from UAE, guides him to people who deal in Iranian Tramadol.

He admitted that he had received two quantities of the drug, one worth Dh20,000 and the other Dh4,000. He stored them in his house and sold them.

The court will reconvene on July 30.
