Thieves break into office; steal Dh60,000

Six Asians allegedly broke into a shop and stole a safe box containing Dh60,000 in addition to passports, labour cards, stamp and cheque books, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

MR, an Afghani, informed police about the theft after he was told by the son of his partner in the general trading company.

On checking footage of the CCTV cameras installed in and around the company, police spotted six Asians. The thieves broke into the main door and carried out the safe box before running away.

Police arrested HT, 32, AM, 41, SM, 41 and EK, 28, all Afghanis, and SO, 27 and MR, 36, Pakistanis, for their involvement in a number of thefts and this one as well.

The court will give its sentence on May 28.
