Thieves gift actress with 3 stolen dogs

Two unemployed men allegedly broke into a pet shop and stole three German dogs to offer to an Omani actress, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
 
SM, 28, Emirati and KA, 26, Comoros national, are also accused of stealing three sacks of dog food and Dh2,000 in cash. The value of the theft was Dh32,600.
 
The estimated damage to the shop front and cash box which the thieves broke is Dh2,300. 

On October 27, at around 7am, the shop’s manager MS, Syrian, received a call from the police informing him about the theft.

“I rushed to the shop in Al Barsha and found out that three German dogs were missing and their cages were open. The cash box was broken and emptied of Dh2,000,” said MS.
 
Police investigated the theft and found out that SM and KA were involved in the theft and that they are living with a woman in a flat in Dubai Invest.
 
Police arrested KS and confiscated from him a tool used for breaking into the shop.
 
Confronting him with the theft of dogs, he admitted to committing it with SM.
 
Police raided the flat, arrested SM and the woman and found the three dogs.
 
The woman, BB, 29, Omani actress, a friend of the Emirati accused, denied knowling that the dogs were stolen.

“In October, my friend SM came to my flat and offered me three German dogs. I accepted them as a gift,” she told police.

Police told the actress that the dogs were stolen from a pet shop in Al Barsha.
 
The two admitted to theft of the three dogs and Dh2,000 in cash.

However, KA denied the accusation before the court while SM admitted to it saying that he stole the dogs to offer them to his fiancée.
 
The court will give its verdict on February 25.
