Two Pakistanis allegedly stole a car worth Dh50,000 with its load of mineral water, incense and a company document, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

KN, 29 and KS, 32, both jobless, broke the front glass of the Toyota van, model 2009, cut off the switch wires and made a connection before driving it away.

The company’s driver EO, 46, Indian, had stopped the vehicle at his accommodation in Dubai Al Baraha area on a Thursday evening.

“On Saturday morning I got out of the house and did not find the car where I had parked it. Instead, I found some glass on the ground so I called the police,” said the driver.

Police investigated the complaint and arrested KN, 29 who admitted to committing the theft with others.

His role was to observe the area for which he received Dh2,000.

KN admitted that his accomplice had sold the car to an Omani who had smuggled it outside the UAE.

The accused, who had a similar criminal record, recognised KS who also had a criminal car theft record when shown to him via identification parade.

The court will reconvene on October 21.
