Traveller had cocaine in bra and around legs, but denied knowing anything about them

A Thai transit passenger allegedly smuggled 1.2kg of cocaine in her brassiere and between her legs but claimed to know nothing about them, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

A policeman suspected the 30-year-old BJ upon her arrival at around 10.30pm on April 8 from Brazil. He asked a policewoman to search the passenger after asking for her passport.

“I noticed abnormal swelling in her breast area, so I asked her to take off her dress. After several requests, the passenger removed her dress. I found cocaine in a plastic packet wrapped inside the brassiere.

“I also noticed abnormal swelling between the passenger’s legs. She had also hidden cocaine in plastic packets wrapped around her legs. When questioned, the passenger denied knowing anything about them.” testified the policewoman.

The Court will reconvene on July 15.
