TV volume leaves man with broken jaw

A cook who assaulted his roommate and broke his jaw in a fight over high TV volume, was sentenced to six months in jail.

Records mentioned that MA, 42 Indian, left his roommate with five per cent permanent disability.

According to the records, the victim MB, 54, driver, told police that he woke up at 6.30am on April 11 when his roommate MA, 42, was watching cricket match on TV and the volume was very high.

"I asked him to reduce the volume, but he raised it further. I got up from bed to go out. MA surprised me with a punch on my face, uprooting one of my teeth. I tried to get out of the room but fell to the floor. He took advantage of my unbalanced condition and assaulted me again in my face, uprooting three other teeth and causing a fracture in the lower jaw," said the victim.

MB was rushed to hospital where he was reported to have sustained a five per cent rate of permanent disability.
