Two abandoned baby boys were handed over to Al Qasimi Hospital in the last 10 days by Sharjah Police.
The first baby, received on January 28, has been transferred to a care home for orphans in Sharjah after a thorough medical check-up, Naima Khamis, Head, Department of Social Work, Al Qasimi Hospital, was quoted as saying by 'Emarat Al Youm'.
The second child, received on February 4, is still at the hospital as he is being examined by doctors. Once he is pronounced healthy the child will be transferred to a care home. The hospital takes at least two weeks to do a complete medical check on babies.
The hospital received three babies so far this year, Naima Khamis said and added that 10 children were received last year.
