Two cars caught doing over 240 km

Two cars were caught racing at more than 240 km per hour on Abu Dhabi’s motorways and both were seized, according to traffic police.

One vehicle was caught by the Qannas (mobile speed camera) doing 252 km per hour while the other travelled at 244 km, they said.

“Both cars were impounded for one month…penalties include a Dh2,000 fine and 12 black points,” said Major Mohsen Al Minhali, director of the external roads division at Abu Dhabi traffic police.

He said the two vehicles were hunted last week but did not specify the area where they caught.
