Two brothers, both clerks, allegedly posed as CID officer and attacked a man in the street and stole his belongings, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

According to the records ASA, 25, and FSA, 28, Palestinians, stopped an Indian worker in the street on November 22 at 10pm.

ASA told the worker NN, 30, that he’s from CID department and show him his identification.

ASA beat the worker and stole his two mobiles as he fell to the ground while FSA kicked him and pulled his wallet.

Police arrested the two accused and the victim could identify ASA as well as his two mobiles.

Sergeant Saeed Obaid testified that police received information about ASA who was roaming around at Al Baraha area, posing as CID officer to steal mobile phones and money of people.

After investigating the information, police arrested ASA and his brother and confiscated a number of mobile phones and SIM cards including those of the victim. The two brothers proved to have criminal records with the police.

ASA denied the accusation and claimed that he had taken the mobile phones from the victim who ran away following a financial dispute.

Forensic reported that the victim sustained bruises that could have resulted from falling on a solid subject. The Court adjourned the case to April 4.
