Two jailed for molesting schoolgirls

The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced a Sri Lankan driver to six months in jail after finding him guilty of molesting a six-year-old girl.

DTW, aged 21, was also ordered to be deported after serving his jail term.

According to the records, DTW kissed LB, a British student and daughter of his employer, taking advantage of being with her at home alone.

The victim’s mother, EV, 27, British sales executive, testified that on June 12 she left her daughter in her parent’s house. “As I came back, I found traces of something on her body. Asking the child, she told me that the accused, who was the maid’s friend, asked her to play with him. I asked my father who seemed unaware of what happened,” she testified.

Meanwhile, The Dubai Criminal Court awarded a 33-year-old Indian worker one year in jail for molesting a 11-year-old school girl in her building.

RMK was ordered to be deported after serving his jail term.

The victim’s mother JA, 41, doctor, testified that at 2.30 pm she got a call from her daughter telling her that she had got down from the school bus and was heading to the building where they lived.

“I asked her not to use the lift as it often out of service and instead use the staircase. Ten minutes later she called me and told me that someone came from behind her and hugged and kissed her. I called the watchman to search for the accused but he did not find anyone in the building.

“On the next day while teaching my daughter, I found a paper written with a phone number written on it and a request to call the number without telling anyone. So I lodged a complaint with the police,” she testified.

The accused confessed to hugging and kissing the girl after telling her of his affection for her.
