Two posed as CID men and robbed a pedestrian

Two jobless Pakistanis allegedly posed as CID staff and robbed a pedestrian at knife point, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

According to the records, Shijo Boveri, 29, Indian worker, was stopped by two people while he was walking in the Naif area. They claimed they were CID staff and accompanied him into a building.

“One of the accused snatched my mobile phone while he was looking for my identity card in my wallet. The other accused snatched the wallet containing Dh3,000. Two other people arrived at the scene and pulled a knife out of a sack, pointed it at my neck and told me not to yell for help or inform the police. The first two handed over my belongings to the other two who came later. The first two beat me up until I fell on the floor while the other two ran away. A few days later, when I saw two of the attackers in the same area, I notified the police,” he testified.

The accused confessed to the crime.
