Sharjah police arrested two Pakistani men for stealing many groceries in Khor Fakkan by tricking shopkeepers into believing they owed them money.

Police seized the two after receiving reports from many shops about the thefts in the eastern port town. All shopkeepers identified the two after their arrest.

Police said the two followed the same way in robbing the shops by buying items and taking the change from the shop owners.

They then would come back to return the items, plunging the shop keepers into a lengthy argument about the price and change and how much they had paid, leading eventually to the shops being robbed.

Two held for trying to bribe Fujeirah cop

Fujeirah police arrested two Arab men for trying to bride a police man so he will smuggle one of them out of the country to avert prosecution.

The police man told his seniors that an Arab man offered him Dh4,000 so he will smuggle his friend out of Dibba Al Hosn into Oman as he is wanted in a court case for forgery in another emirate, according to Alkhaleej newspaper.

The cop pretended he accepted the deal and met the two in Dibba Al Hosn after receiving the promised Dh4,000.

“Once they paid him, other police men raided the place and arrested the two,” the paper said, quoting police sources.
