Visitor had 56 drug capsules in his stomach

The Dubai Court of Appeal upheld a 10-year jail term for SBG, 45-year-old Pakistani visitor, for smuggling in his stomach 56 capsules that contained heroin and hashish.

The court also upheld the Dh50,000 fine and deportation sentence.

According to the records, Sergeant Adel suspected the passenger upon his arrival at Dubai Airport on June 13. Searching his luggage with his colleague, nothing was found. When asked whether he possessed drugs, he admitted that he had capsules in his stomach.

He confessed that he was supposed to hand them over to a person in UAE against money.

The accused released 56 capsules that contained a total of 364gms of heroin and 328gms of hashish.
