Policemen who investigated the death of eight-year-old Wadeema at the hands of her father and his mistress testified before the Dubai Criminal Court that the victim was living in a house that was not fit for humans to live in.

The house was a studio flat in Internatoinal City where HSJ, 29, was living with his mistress and his two daughters Wadeema and Mira.

“I saw a flat that was not fit for humans to live in. It was very dirty and in a complete mess. I also found two irons used for torturing the girls,” he testified.

AMA, the 27-year-old  mistress, attended the hearing holding her infant born out of the adulterous relationship with her accomplice in torturing his daughters and causing the death of the elder one. She failed to attend the previous hearing as she had gone to give birth to the baby.

The father asked the jury, presided by Judge Maher Salama Al Mahdi, to remove journalists from the court room when the turn of his seven-year-old daughter Mira to make her testimony came.

The judge accepted the request and decided to hear the testimony of the girl in the deliberations room.

The father and his mistress were arrested following a visit of the girl’s uncle to their house.  He reported that Wadeema was missing and the condition of the younger one Mira was bad.

Police found the decomposed body of Wadeema buried in a desert area of Sharjah and estimated that she had died six months ago.

The father and his mistress were accused of torturing the two girls with different tools and branding their bodies with hot irons and confining them for long hours without food in the bathroom or in the wardrobe, causing the death of one and 10 per cent permanent disability of the other one.

The court adjourned the case to November 25.
