Wife in online abuse of hubby let off

A Court of Cassation acquitted a Gulf woman of charges of abusing her husband through WhatsApp because the man was late in taking her to court.

A Court of First Instance had found the wife guilty and fined her Dh5,000, prompting her to appeal the sentence, which was upheld by a Court of Appeals.

The wife appealed through the Court of Cassation, which found that the husband took his wife to court nearly six months after the incident.

“The court rejected the case and acquitted the wife because the husband was late for more than three months in taking legal action,” 'Emarat Al Youm' daily said.
