Woman hurls broken glass at hotel staff

An Uzbek businesswoman allegedly assaulted a hotel worker while she was fighting with another causing him 25 per cent permanent disability, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The Uzbek woman, JO, 40, is accused of assaulting AL, 29, Tunisian, on October 15, 2014. She threw a broken glass at him. She was also under the influence of alcohol that day, prosecutors told the court.

Meanwhile, the victim testified: “She did not meant to hurt me but hurt another man she was fighting with.”

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.

Medical reports confirm that the victim sustained a cut on the middle nerve of his right hand.

He underwent an operation, but continues to suffer from 25 per cent permanent disability.

She has admitted that she did not intent to hurt him.

The court will reconvene on June 2.
