Woman killed by two youth after row over Dh10

A woman in her early 40s was brutally murdered by two young men in their 20s in an Abu Dhabi apartment in a dispute over a mere Dh10, Abu Dhabi Police has revealed.

The woman’s half-naked and blood-soaked body with her hands and legs tied up was found lying on a bed in an apartment.

Two Asian nationals were arrested hours after the dead body of the 43-year- old LM was found in a house near Al Zahya (Tourist Club) area of the UAE capital.

The woman apparently died due to severe head injuries caused by repeated hitting with a soft drink bottle by one of the two angry men. The quarrel was over the money paid by the two youngsters for sex to the murdered woman, according to a statement issued by Abu Dhabi Police.

Colonel Dr Rashid Mohammad Bu Rasheed, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), said in a statement that while one of the alleged Asian killers is an illegal worker, the other was a cleaner. He added the killers punched and beat her with a bottle of soft drink on her head and then strangled her to death.

The two suspects, identified as 24-year-old GS and 21-year-old MM killed the woman identified as LM because the woman insisted on being paid Dh150 by the two youngsters who gave her Dh140, that is, Dh10 less than what they had agreed on.

The two young suspects have confessed to the police about how they killed the woman over the Dh10 dispute.

According to the confession, Abu Dhabi Police said in the statement, while the first accused punched and hit her on the face, the second one curbed her movements.

Abdu Dhabi Police said the two have been referred to the Public Prosecution to complete the legal procedure.
