A woman from Thailand allegedly transported 2.066kg of cocaine hidden in secret pockets made in her underwear, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

On December 7, SR, 29, arrived at Dubai International Airport as a transit passenger. Being suspected, First Corporal Fatima Mohammed was assigned to search her.

“Searching her hand bag, I did not find any banned item. However, searching her body, I found abnormal thickness around her waist. I found that pockets had been made in a bandage she was wearing around her waist where cocaine was hidden in three plastic packets. I also found that secret pockets had been made in her underwear in which five plastic packets containing cocaine were hidden,” testified the officer.

The accused admitted to transporting the drugs which she was supposed to hand over to someone in Brazil against $4,000.

The court adjourned the case for verdict until March 21.
