Would-be rapist deterred by victim’s plea

A 25-year-old man was about to rape a woman aged more than 50 years but stopped in the last minute after bowing to her pleas that she is like his mother.

The woman was walking back home in Fujeirah when the man stopped his car and offered her a lift, which she welcomed.

Instead of taking her home, he changed course and sped towards a deserted area, where he asked her to undress and make sex to him.

“She rejected his request and started to beg him to let her go…she told him that he is like her son and that she is like his mother,” Alkhaleej daily said.

“The man finally responded to her pleas, started the car and drove the woman back to her house……she reported the incident to the police after recovering from that shock.”

The paper said Fujeirah’s prosecutor has referred the unidentified defendant to the criminal court on charges of attempted rape.
