A 19-year-old Egyptian youth allegedly sneaked into a villa and groped a 60-year-old woman while she was sleeping in her bed next to her husband, the Dubai Criminal Court.

The woman, SD, British, librarian, woke up at around 5am on January 31, as she felt someone groping her thighs and her private parts. Her husband was sleeping next to her in their house in Silicon Oasis.

“I woke up shouting and screaming. My husband, who was sleeping next to me in the bed, woke up and ran after a man who rushed out of the room and the villa. Then we called the police,” SD told investigators.

Her husband PJ, 60, British employee, told investigators that he woke up hear his wife’s screams. She was saying: “Get out of our house... get out of our house.”  I rushed after a man who got out of the room but I could not catch him. When I turned back to my wife, she told me that the intruder had groped her private parts and thighs,” he said.

Finger prints led to the accused AA, 19, Egyptian, advertising agent. AA admitted to his crime saying that he went to the area to say goodbye to a friend who was leaving the UAE.

“I stayed in the party till 3am. Then I took a shower before going out as I was drunk. I started roaming in the area and was trying to open doors of the villas until the door of this villa opened as it was not firmly locked. I got into the villa looking for money. I searched the ground floor but did not find any money. I went up to the first floor and opened the door of the room and saw a man and a woman sleeping. I noticed that the woman was not wearing underwear. I groped her breast and thighs before she woke up,” the accused said while admitting  his crime.

The court will reconvene on May 10.
