An Algerian visitor is accused of molesting a woman and misbehaving with her, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
The incident took place on March 22, when 26-year-old Saudi national, SB, accompanied her husband to an electronics store in Dubai Mall.
"My husband was viewing some electronics, while I was a bit far from him. A man passed behind me and touched me inappropriately. I turned back to see, at the same time he tuned and smiled at me. I stepped towards him and confronted, asking his name. Shockingly, he stepped closer, almost touching my body.
"While smiling he replied: 'Why do you want my name. I have no name.' I stepped back and shouted at him for misbehaving," she testified.
The victim told investigators that the passage, where she was standing, fits two person easily.
"He did that intentionally and felt me up with his hand and did not accidentally brush with his body," she said.
The couple complained to the police and the accused was arrested.
Reviewing footage of security camera from the store, 23-year-old MN, was seen molesting the victim.
The court will give verdict on July 24.
