Prisoner ends life in toilet in Saudi

A Saudi prisoner convicted of killing an Indian man committed a suicide inside the prison’s toilet in the Gulf kingdom although he had been pardoned by the victim’s relative in return for blood money.

‘Sada’ newspaper said guards at the prison in the central town of Aflaj found the man hanging by his head cover in the toilet.

“They rushed him to hospital but he was already dead. He killed an Indian by accident five years ago but was due to be released after the payment of diya to the victim’s family,” the paper said.
