103-year-old Saudi run-over by 4x4

A 103-year-old Saudi man was killed after he was run over by a 4x4 vehicle while crossing the road in the Gulf Kingdom, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.

The man was nearly in the middle of the road in the southern town of Baha when a GMC vehicle hit him, Sabq said.

He was rushed to hospital suffering from fractures in the head and body but died later, it said, quoting police.

Passenger dies on way to Pakistan

An old Pakistani passenger died in air just before a Saudi aircraft made an emergency landing in the Gulf Kingdom in a bid to save his life.

The plane was en route from the western Red Sea port of Jeddah to Karachi when the man fell ill, newspapers said.

The pilot of flight 704 made an emergency landing in the Saudi capital Riyadh but the passenger died just before the aircraft touched the tarmac.

Two Saudis killed after car brake failure

Two Saudi men were killed when their car plunged into an abyss in a rugged area in the Gulf Kingdom after the vehicle developed a brake failure.

The two were travelling near the mountainous town of Rijal Alma in the southern province of Asir when the brakes of their four-wheel Land Cruiser stopped working.

Police said the two were pulled out of the badly damaged car and taken to hospital but they died on the way.
