Dubai’s police arrested three African men just before they embarked on a wide deception operation with the help of a device they claim can multiply money.

Police, acting on a tip off, sent an undercover to the three at their apartment in Baraha to ask them to give him a demonstration of the machine before he deals with them.

After one of them inserted a black piece of paper and later pulled a $100 note out of the machine, the police undercover pretended he was stunned by the operation.

They happily told him they can do him a favour and multiply his money. They then asked him to bring $100,000 which they will increase it to $three million.

“Our man returned later with the agreed sum…as he handed it over to the three, our men swooped on the flat and arrested them,” Dubai’s CID chief Colonel Abdullah Rashid said, quoted by the Arabic language daily Emirat Alyoum.

The paper quoted Lt Colonel Rashid Saleh, deputy director of the anti-economic crime division, as saying police who searched the machine found nearly three million in fake US dollar notes besides powder and liquids they claim can whiten black paper..

“They wanted to cheat their customers by giving them fake notes….once a customer discovers the trick, they would have fled,” he said.
