50-kg tumor removed from woman’s belly

Saudi doctors removed a massive tumor weighing nearly 50 kg from the belly of a local woman after she suffered from excruciating pains for many years.

A team of surgeons succeeded in removing the mass in an operation that last several hours at a public hospital in the central town of Dawami.

“The operation was performed successfully and the woman is doing well,” Sabq newspaper said, quoting a surgeon at the hospital.

Saudi boy killed while playing with dad’s gun

A nine-year-old Saudi boy was killed and his sister was injured after their father’s gun accidentally fired while they were playing with the weapon.

Police said the boy was rushed to hospital in the central town of Wadi al Dawasir but died on arrival. His seven-year-old sister suffered from leg injury.

 “Initial police investigation showed the two were tampering with their father’s machine gun at home when it started firing randomly,” Alsaudeh daily said.
