An Egyptian housewife in the Giza governorate in Egypt is accused of killing her husband with the help of her lover, when he began suspecting her.

According to a report in Al Youm Al Sabea’a newspaper, the 35-year-old woman, who confessed to have always being in an adulterous relationship, served her husband poisoned tea, before stabbing him. Then she called her lover to help her dispose of the body.

The duo transported his body in a car and dumped it in a remote area.

The incident came to light when the neighbourhood people found the abandoned body and informed police.

Once the body was identified, police investigations led to his wife and her lover, along with other people involved.

She told investigating officers that her friendship with her lover strengthened after she started borrowing money from him and soon after that he started visiting her home.

“One night he knocked at my door. I requested him to leave. But he pleaded with me to let him in. After that night, we started living as a couple,” she explained.

However, after a few months when she suggested that they marry, he refused  and said they could continue living like that. “I was concerned I could not have a baby under such an arrangement. Also, my husband started doubting me.”

She alleged that the deceased began ill-treating her. That’s when she decided to do away with him. So one night she served him dinner and poisoned tea and waited for him to fall unconscious, before stabbing him several times.

Then she called her lover and dumped the body in a remote place so that no one would recognise him.

The paper also quoted her as saying that she was never satisfied with her husband and always had other men in her life.

The couple along with others involved in the case have been arrested and referred to the public prosecution.
