African 'ambassador' caught with fake $1bn in Saudi

Saudi police arrested an African man claiming he is a former ambassador after seizing with him nearly US one billion in fake notes.

Police in the western Saudi town of Makkah raided the man’s apartment after receiving information that he was buying property on the grounds he cannot deposit the money with banks because of security problems in his home country.

Police, quoted by Ajel newspaper, said they arrested the man, in his 50s, at his apartment in Makkah and found nearly US one billion in fake notes.
