A Saudi newspaper on Sunday published a picture showing a school boy holding a bottle of whiskey while another bottle rested on his desk in class at a school in the conservative Gulf Kingdom, which strictly bans alcohol.

Kabar Arabic language daily said it picked the picture from a U-Tube film showing the unidentified boy waving the bottle by his band while another bottle was lain before him on the desk.

Kabar said it was not known how the boy, who masked his face with his traditional head cover, brought the liquor bottles into school.

“We are waiting for the school management to come out with a clarification of this picture,” the paper said.

Two -year-old boy gets traffic offence

Shocked father told to pay penalty recorded in his son’s name 15 years ago

A Saudi man was shocked when his son’s job application at a government department was suspended on the grounds he had not paid a traffic fine issued when his son was only two years old.

The father in the western town of Makkah said traffic police records showed there is a fine recorded against his son nearly 15 years ago while the boy is now 18 years old, according to a local newspaper.

“This means my son committed a traffic offence when he was two years old…they just froze my son’s job applica tion until we pay the fine,” he said. “We tried to object but were told to pay first.”
