Dad tortures kids with hot knife for loss of Dh100

A Saudi man used a hot knife to torture his nine children, including a 3-month-old girl, after the loss of SR100 (Dh100), a newspaper reported on Thursday.

A school teacher discovered the cruel act when she saw the man’s 18-year-old daughter limping in class, Sada said.

“After she was pressed to tell the truth, the girl told her teacher that her father scalded her feet and arms with a hot knife after the disappearance of SR100 at home…she said her father did the same thing to all her brothers and sisters, including the 3-month-old baby,” the paper said in a report from the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah.

It said the mother knew about the torture but could do nothing as she is worried her husband could divorce her.

It quoted the teacher as saying social services took the man’s nine children to hospital for treatment and would provide them with housing pending police investigation.
