Dead wolf found hanging at Saudi town's traffic signal

Seeing a bird perched on top of a traffic signal pole has become a familiar scene for drivers — but not a dead wolf.

Motorists in Saudi Arabia were shocked and some of them nearly banged into the pole or other vehicles when they saw a dead wolf hanging by the traffic signal pole.

Sabq Arabic language daily said the wolf has apparently been hunted and hanged by the pole on a road in the western Saudi town of Taif.

“The sight of the wolf hanging by that pole caused concern and fear to the residents. Some of them now think the wolf could have been living inside the neighborhood and was killed there,” it said.

“Some others wondered how the hunter climbed that pole and hung the dead wolf. They also asked why the hunter behaved in such an irresponsible way.”

Kuwaiti police arrested an Asian bus driver on charges of raping a handicapped school boy inside the bus after taking him to an isolated area.

The boy had not realised the driver had done anything wrong to him until he was asked by his mother about the bruises on the lower part of his body and the rupture in his underwear, the Arabic language daily Alwatan said.

“He told her what exactly happened. The mother told her husband who reported the driver to the police,” the paper said without mentioning the boy’s age or the rapist’s nationality.
