A drunk Saudi man opened fire on the Gulf Kingdom’s feared religious police as they tried to seize him for having alcohol but no one was hurt.
Members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice were on a routine night patrol in the southern mountainous town of Abha when they saw three men in a car behaving strangely.
“They came close to them and found that they were all drunk…they captured two men but the third ran away with a liquor bottle in his hand after opening fire on the Commission members…no one was hurt in the incident,” Sharq daily said.
