Filipina maid threatens ex-employer with 'magic'

A Saudi court sentenced a Filipina housemaid to eight months in prison and ordered her deportation from the Gulf kingdom after finding her guilty of threatening to cast a magic spell on the daughters of her Saudi ex-employers.

The court in the western Red Sea port of Jeddah convicted the main after finding pictures and texts in her mobile phone sent to the wife of her former employer.

The Arabic language daily Al Watan said the maid denied sending any messages, claiming that another maid who worked with her used her mobile to send them.

“The court did not believe the maid and decided that the texts and pictures in her mobile phone are a sufficient evidence…it sentenced her to eight months in prison, ordered her deportation and confiscated her mobile phone,” the report said.
