Little did a young girl know that her boyfriend would stab her and set her on fire after her parents refused to marry her off to him.
The young man, a post-graduate student hailing from the southern Indian city of Coimbatore, doused his girlfriend with kerosene and set her ablaze. He also stabbed the girl's mother before self-immolating himself, reports Indian television channel NDTV.
The couple had been on a long-term relationship when the girl's parents decided not to allow their daughter to marry this particular man.
