A 28-year-old Saudi man thinking his mother is a witch who is controlling him waited for her to go into her room away from her other sons, went after her and stabbed her many times before cutting off her head.

The unnamed man had always accused his mother of being a sorcerer trying to cast a magic spell on him and wanted to kill her but was restrained by his brothers. Just a few days before the murder, he threw a sharp object at her but missed the target before he was grabbed by his brothers grabbed.

“On that day, he waited until he was alone with his mother in her room, then stabbed her and mutilated her hands before cutting her head off,” the Saudi Arabic language daily Kabar said in an unsourced report.

“He then went straight to the police and told them he had killed his mother because he was under her magic spell and that he did not know what exactly he had done…his brothers said he was suffering from psychological problems tried many times to take him to hospital but was refused for lack of a bed.”

“I killed myself”, says suicide note

An Indian man in Saudi Arabia committed a suicide by hanging himself and left a letter telling police that he killed himself and did not want to accuse any one.

Colleagues had found the man, in his 30s, hanging in his room at King Abdul Aziz airport in the western Red Sea port of Jeddah, where he had worked for a local company serving the airport.

“I killed myself and do not want to accuse any one….I committed a suicide because of family problems,” said the letter, which was found near the body.

ATM cash machine stolen in Saudi

Thieves used ropes and a car to wrest a medium-sized cash machine out of its base in Saudi Arabia and made away with the machine and the money inside.

A Saudi man who went to withdraw money informed the police after he did not find the machine in its place at the entrance of a building in the eastern town of Dammam, the Arabic language daily Alriyadh said.

Police mounted an extensive manhunt for the thieves, the paper added, without specifying to which bank the machine belongs or how much money was in it.
