Saudi Arabia’s feared religious police arrested a local man on charges of raping a 16-yeqar-old Syrian boy and stabbing a police man before running away.
Members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice were on a routine patrol in the capital Riyadh when they saw the knife-wielding man with the boy on the back seat inside the car in an isolated area.
When they came close, they found that the 37-year-old Saudi was sodomizing the boy and tried to arrest him, Sabq newspaper reported.
But the Saudi managed to flee after stabbing one police man and stealing another car by threatening its owner with the knife, it said.
“After mounting a manhunt, police arrested the man while he was entering a house where he was hiding..…the boy first told them the man abducted and raped him but later he changed his statements and said they know each other,” the paper said, adding that the Saudi faces four charges including abduction, rape, stabbing a police man and staling a vehicle at knife point.
