Man tries to end life after failing to steal car

A 19-year-old man from another Gulf country tried to commit a suicide after he was arrested by police in Ajman when he tried to steal car just hours after he was released from prison in another criminal case, a newspaper reported on Monday.

The unnamed man had spent three months in jail before he was released and asked to avert committing any more offences.

He headed straight for a car park and tried to steal a vehicle, the Arabic language daily 'Al Bayan' said, adding that he was caught by the police.

“While in detention, he smashed floor tiles and hit his head but was stopped by guards who were called by other prisoners. He was taken to hospital for treatment,” the paper said.
