Mother of two molested for mere Dh12

A gang of three men broke into a home in Thanamalwila area, assaulted the woman before fleeing with her necklace and [Sri Lankan] Rs500 (approx. Dh12), reported ‘Lankadeep’.

The 47-year-old woman, who has been living alone with her two children, was threatened at knifepoint and raped before being forced to part with her jewellery and cash.

The incident happened early morning last week at about 2am.

The gang has been arrested.
