A woman in Karachi attempted killing her twin daughters as she continues protesting against her ex-husband demanding alimony to bring up her kids.

Aziz Gul, 46, became the second wife of her ex-husband, Faisal Haq, in 2011 after a four-year relationship. She alleges that their marriage was kept a secret from his first wife, reported ‘The Express Tribune’.

The couple lived a happy life in an apartment he had bought. However, trouble began when his first wife found out. Following which, Gul alleges that Haq divorced her and sold the apartment for Rs18.6m and has kept the money for himself.

Now she demands not only alimony but also a proper divorce as she claims that Haq had submitted fake documents to authorities and had not attached marriage certificate. She wants him to return her property as well as documents of two cars, which she alleges he stole from her house.

However, Haq says that Gul is a drug addict and unstable. The latter allegation supported by her son from her first marriage, who was quoted as saying that she has “some psychological issues and has threatened people before”.

According to Haq, the house that Gul is currently living in is his as also the cars she uses. He claims that he divorced her last year and that he is ready to take custody of his daughters.

He has sought a restraining order against Gul claiming that she threatens him at his office.

Meanwhile, Gul claims that she has no money to take care of her daughters and once she even tried killing them by giving them sleeping pills in milk. But her maid saved them. More recently, while protesting outside Haq’s house, she tried pushing the twins on the main road, the report added.
