Paralyzed beggar found healthy

Men packing a mosque in Islam’s holiest city in Saudi Arabia were about to leave after ending their prayers when a beggar limping on sticks blocked their way and extended his hand for alms.

Within minutes, the pockets of the beggar, who looked wretched and handicapped, were full as he collected over SR2,700 (Dh2,650) before limping away, dragging behind his presumed urinary tract medical tube.

The men appeared to be satisfied with helping such a crippled man except for one, who decided to sneak behind the beggar to verify his suspicions.

“After a while, the Saudi man had a shock…he found that the beggar suddenly put away his sticks, wrapped the urinary tube and put it in his pocket….he instantly knew that the beggar does not suffer from any problem,” the Saudi Arabic language daily Sharq said in a report from the western town of Makkah.

“He jumped on the beggar and dragged him back to the mosque, where he showed him to the men, who were also shocked….he then phoned the police who arrested the beggar for begging and deceiving worshippers.”
