Saudi judicial authorities seized the funds of a royal member and halted government services to him in line with a ruling to force him to pay debt to a citizen, a newspaper in the Gulf Kingdom reported on Tuesday.

The ministry of justice withdrew SR100,000 (Dh98,500) found in the prince’s bank account in the Gulf Kingdom, froze all his assets in the country and banned him from travelling abroad until he pays his creditor SR2.2 million (Dh2.17 million), 'Sabq' Arabic language daily said without identifying the Emir (prince).

“The prince has been banned from travelling abroad and his assets in the Kingdom will be auctioned to pay debt to the citizen,” the paper said without giving further details.

“The justice ministry issued the sentence against the prince after if found that all his excuses for not paying his debt were not true.”
