Shoe thief apologises for 8-year-old incident

An anonymous shoe thief left a letter of apology for his victim who had his shoe stolen eight years ago at a wedding in Jeddah, Sabq reports.

The thief had attached a SR500 note along with his letter to compensate for the lost shoes. The thief expressed his regret for such misconduct and asked him to forgive him. 

The incident took place 8 years ago in Jeddah. Abu Abdurrahman was attending his relative’s wedding.

When Abdurrahman went in search of his shoes after dinner, he couldn’t find them as they had vanished.

He added that he was forced to return home without shoes and he had forgotten the incident completely.

However, when a worker in his office received an envelope from a child asking him to handle it to him, he was surprised.

He added the unknown thief requested forgiveness on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, and the remorse for what he did and left SR500 as a gift and compensation for the damage suffered.

Abu Abdurrahman assured via Sabq website that he forgave the person who stole his shoes and confirmed that the value of the shoes was SR250 and he would be giving the amount in charity.
