Doctors treating a little boy bitten by a spider in Saudi Arabia were surprised to find that his heart was on the right side of his chest while his liver and spleen were on the left side of his body, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.

The doctors in the northern town of Hail were more surprised when they discovered that the boy’s elder brother also has those organs on the wrong side of his body, Kabar Arabic language daily said.

It said the doctors discovered the condition of the first boy, Badi al Harbi, 9, after he was admitted to hospital with a spider bite.

“Images showed his heart was on the right side of his chest and his liver and spleen were on the left side,” it said.

“When they told his father, he insisted on having all his sons examined…images showed Badi’s brother, 11-year-old Tareq, also has those organs on the wrong side of his body."
