Woman has miscarriage after maid attack

A pregnant Saudi woman had a miscarriage after she was attacked by her Ethiopian housemaid at her house in the Gulf Kingdom, a newspaper reported on Thursday.

The maid lunged at the woman, who was in her 5th month pregnancy, and punched her many times in the stomach following an argument at the house in the eastern town of Hufouf, the Arabic language daily Al Weaam said, adding that the maid also assaulted the woman’s two-year-old daughter and tried to strange her.

“The woman was taken to hospital while the maid fled but she was arrested later…tests showed the infant was dead,” the paper said.
