Women steal child's bracelets at busy mall

Three veiled women pretending to be beggars waited for parents of a three-year-old child to go into a shop at a busy mall in Saudi Arabia, stealthily dragged the girl away and stole her jewellery before dumping her at another shop.

The mother screamed when she could not find her daughter while the panicking father ran through the mall looking for her and shouting her name.

Police later found the Mai Al Issa at a corner near a shop and handed her to her parents, who instantly noticed that she had been robbed.

Police said the three women pinched the girl’s gold bracelets and necklace before fleeing the place, adding that they were caught on security cameras deployed through the shopping mall in the eastern province.

“We are still searching for those women…they just disappeared and the film we obtained showed they had veils on their faces,” a police spokesman said, quoted by the Saudi Arabic language daily Sada.

The paper quoted shoppers as saying the three women were begging and telling people that they need money for their children to celebrate Eid Al Adha.
