An Egyptian salesman allegedly forged 38 mobile applications of clients and stole mobiles and telecom services using their accounts, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

AM, 28, allegedly asked a Filipina employee to feed in forged telecom applications of some clients.

The incident came to light when the clients complained to the operator that their monthly installments have increased.

The dealer discovered that AM had collected smartphones issued in names of these clients.

MC, 28, Filipina, testified that the supervisor asked her to come an hour early to work, claiming that he wanted to train her before he proceeded on leave.

“He used to give me applications and ask me to feed them into the system. I noticed there were some changes in the applications. When I checked with him, he told me that these were old applications and so they had to be changed,” MC testified.

CCTV footage captured the accused an hour before the official starting time sitting in front of a computer with MC.

The court will reconvene on June 5.
