16-year old teen accused of raping woman he helped

Police in Morgan Hill have arrested a 16-year-old boy suspected of raping a drunk woman after he and his mother helped a cabdriver carry her into her house.

Capt. Shane Palsgrove said Monday that the taxi driver flagged down the boy and his mother, who happened to be driving in the area, to get the woman inside her house Friday.

Investigators believe the teen returned to the woman’s home later that night and assaulted her, then came back again his 15-year-old girlfriend and another friend to burglarize the home.

The unidentified boy and two girls were arrested Saturday. Investigators do not believe the girls knew about the rape.

Police said they found stolen items belonging to the victim at the boy’s home, including jewelry, money and a game console.
