A newlywed couple who lured a stranger to his death through a Craigslist ad are due in court for sentencing.

Nineteen-year-old Miranda Barbour and her 22-year-old husband, Elytte, pleaded guilty last month to second-degree murder in a plea deal that took the death penalty off the table. The charge carries a mandatory sentence of life without parole.

The two are scheduled to be sentenced separately Thursday in a Sunbury courtroom, where the family of the victim, Troy LaFerrara, will be given a chance to speak.

LaFerrara was answering an ad offering companionship when he was attacked in Miranda Barbour's vehicle Nov. 11.

Police say she stabbed him about 20 times while her husband held a cord around his neck.

Elytte Barbour told police the couple wanted to kill someone together.
