Dad axed to death after party brawl

Colombo - During a prolonged argument between friends, who had attended a party in a house, a father of one has been murdered, according to Chilaw police, ‘Mawbima’ reported.

Police said the victim had been identified as Samantha Pushpakumara (29), a resident of Jayarathnapura village in Anawilundawa, Nalladarankattuwa.

The man’s wife is pregnant and was ready to deliver her second baby, the report stated.

The victim had attended a party on Sunday (27) afternoon with some of his friends and although the party had ended, the friends were chatting while consuming alcohol when an argument broke out.

Another friend then attacked the victim with an axe and he had succumbed to serious injuries after admission to hospital, police said.
