A father of a young son knowingly ran his car over the little one and his mother as he suspected the boy's mum of entering into a new relationship.
The 30-year-old man, Jesus Castillo-Dimas, drove his SUV over the two in Fitchburg, according to reports in the news media. He also stabbed the mother of his child with knife. She sustained injuries in her neck.
The police responded to a phone call and upon arrival were horrified to see that the two-year-old child was trapped beneath one of the wheels of the vehicle. He had died on the spot. His mother, Maria del Rosario Castillo-Castillo, was injured as well.
The post-mortem report established that the child had died as a result of significant blunt force trauma caused by a motor vehicle.
The court was informed that just before running over the duo, Castillo-Dimas had told his child's mother: "You'll see what will happen to you and your child." He then drove his car over and killed the child.
